The Valley of the Monkeys, just before the entrance to the Valley of the Kings, is one of the most beautiful, peaceful and less visited wadis in the area. The tomb of Ay ( KV23) is beyond KV 24 and KV 25 (both unknown) at the end of the road. The wadi is located in the west branch of the main Valley of the Kings. Behind a modern guard house Wadi Itneen runs parallel to the Wadi of the Monkeys. The geological formations here are stunning and magnificent. Near the tomb of Ay, Roman steps proceed to an ancient guard house where a road would have led back to the main Kings Valley.
